It’s Labor Day weekend, so I suppose that it was fittingly All-American for me to indulge with another burger today. This time, I was near Eastern Market and headed towards Good Stuff Eatery (3rd and Penn SE).
Since I just had a classic-ish burger at Shake Shack the other night, I went with the Blazin’ Barn, which is basically a burger with banh mi-esque toppings– pickled daikon and carrots, mint, cilatro, Thai basil, lettuce, and spicy mayo. Although they are non-traditional burger toppings, they are definitely one of my favorite flavor combinations, and I loved them on a burger!
For the fries, I opted for Spike’s Village Fries, topped with rosemary, thyme, and sea salt. They were tasty vessels for my favorite part of Good Stuff: the dipping mayo bar. Who needs ketchup when there’s mayo? My favorites are the chipotle and mango mayos, and both were also great dipping mayos for the Blazin’ Barn.
Next on the burger tour will be Bobby’s Burger Palace, which opened downtown last month. But first, I need to give my heart some rest from this weekend’s double header!
