spicy machu pisco + guava mojito | mio

Mio is one of the restaurants I sometimes forget about but am always happy to remember when I do.

This month’s girls’ happy hour visited Mio, the downtown Latin fusion restaurant on Vermont Ave. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that during happy hour (until 7 PM), all specialty cocktails (featuring Puerto Rican rums) are $5.

E and I had a round before K arrived, with me opting for the mojito of the day (guava = yum!) and E getting the spicy machu pisco. After K arrived, we ordered a round of caipirinhas. All of them were delicious and deceptively easy to throw back!

Mio also has an extensive bar food menu to pair with its $5 treats. We ordered the fries (per usual) and pinchos de churrasco (skirt steak skewers):
